Ingredient One: Children’s Illustration.

Children’s games and activities are the second ingredient in the kids activity book kitchen. There are many classic games and activities for children, ranging from word searches, spelling games, math games, matching games to the ever-present tic-tac-toe. But within each of these classic categories the nature of the game and the age group it is targeted to can vary greatly. Understanding child development is key to creating books with activities that are relevant and entertaining for children at each age level. At Kidzsmart we draw from a gigantic library we have built up over years of business that includes countless classic games and activities as well as original games and activities we have invented and kid tested. Whether you provide the content (theme, information, facts, etc) or you ask us to come up with the content, our writers can make sure the content is delivered in a kid-friendly way for the right age group. And when branding is important, the client’s brand elements and colors must be skillfully built into the graphic layouts to accurately and consistently represent that company or organization. Our in-studio artists spend every day blending children’s illustration, kids games and activities and client branding guidelines into visually appealing kids fun.

Ingredient Five: Children’s Book Publishers.

Once the first three components have been pulled together and approved it is time to publish your children’s activity/coloring book! And this component of the process is as important to success as the other three. A great printed product relies on several factors. At Kidzsmart we will talk to you about the size, shape and number of pages required to accomplish your kids activity book goals. Evaluating such things as paper weight, cardstock vs. paperstock, eco friendly paper options, types of ink, use of color, die-cutting, etc, will also impact the quality of the final product. Ultimately our goal is to deliver a great product at just the right price. Our print production team oversees every aspect of the print process, to make sure the finished product “shines” in all the right ways. And finally we make sure the product is packaged and delivered in the best way to aid with distribution.
